Black Pearl Bookstore is a Black woman owned bookstore in Austin, Texas, dedicated to ensuring access to a diverse collection of reading material. Since opening in 2019, Katrina Brooks and her family have worked through all of the obstacles in their way, including the Covid-19 pandemic which disrupted the store just 4 months after opening. They were able to be creative in finding ways to survive and keep providing inclusive literature options for the Austin community.
